Joe Miraglilo, a South Jersey native, came to San Antonio, TX in 2000 by way of Boston, Massachusetts where he attended The Berklee College of Music, with a concentration in jazz and commercial music. After graduating from Berklee, he opened A-Wave Studios, a 32 track digital recording studio. During his time running A-Wave, he recorded over 100 CD projects for various artists in the Boston area. Joe was also a faculty member at The Arts Institute in Boston, teaching the basics of audio signal flow and midi. He also instructed advanced classes in digital audio using Pro Tools. He has been a music producer and recording engineer since 1987. He has extensive knowledge of many computer programs geared for production, they include: Pro Tools, Digital Performer, Final Cut Studio, Adobe CS – Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Dreamweaver and After Effects just to name a few.

 

He keeps busy with his recording studio and playing piano at Durty Nelly’s Irish Pub on the Riverwalk in San Antonio. Joe’s musical talents are not limited to the piano, but he also plays trumpet, drums, bass and guitar.

 

Joe has been working as a video editor and sound mixer on films for many years. He edited his first feature length documentary, “Red Dirt: Song from the Dust”, by Lata Gouveia in 2012 which screened at several film festivals and won “Best Music Documentary” at the Bare Bones Film Festival. He also edited the winning San Antonio Neighborhood Film Project, “Soul of the Eastside” and the award winning 48hour, “Drought of Essentials”. Joe wrote & produced the score, and mixed the audio for “Under”, a short film by Roman Garcia that screened at the Short Shorts Festival in San Antonio and the film won Best Musical Score and Best Audio Mix. He also completed the musical score and audio mix for a film by Eddie Felan entitled “Deception of Death”, where he also did production sound recording as well. Since 2015, Joe has been the official videographer for the San Antonio River Walk. He was commisioned to produce “San Antonio River Walk – A Tribute To Robert H. H. Hugman, “Father of the River Walk” and many other videos that may be seen on the San Antonio Riverwalk’s YouTube channel. Joe has done several music videos including Joe Walmsley’s “Scouser In The Room”. Recently Joe completed production of 35 episodes of “Puppetics” a political satire series using sock puppets shot on green screen which can be seen on the Puppetics YouTube channel.
